Our Story & Vision
The North Ridge Story
The idea of North Ridge Church actually began in North Dakota. Pastor Brent Bickel, and his wife, Laura, were serving on staff at a large church in North Dakota when God began working on their hearts to plant a church in Wisconsin. After much praying, planning and fundraising the couple made the move from "out west" to Wisconsin. It was a homecoming of sorts as Brent grew up as a teenager in the state. Pastor and friend, Craig Rayment, also made the move with Brent and Laura to plant this new church.
In spring 2011, after research, prayer and connecting with others, Brent, Laura and Craig determined that Waunakee was the right community to start a new church. As details were still coming together for church services, it was decided that a ministry needed to be started. In September, 2011, North Ridge Kids, an energetic and educational imidweek program for children was launched. North Ridge Church began monthly services in the fall and by spring 2012 there was a group of 20 dedicated invidividuals, serving and connecting with others to help North Ridge Church launch weekly services on September 9, 2012.
North Ridge Church is continually growing and reaching more people, helping them realize they matter to God and their acceptance of that love can help them "Live Full of Life."
The North Ridge Vision
At North Ridge Church we want to be a blessing to our community. Our vision is to build a church that is culturally relevant and honors God with excellence. We will operate as a unified community of men and women using their gifts, talents and callings. We will strive for loving relationships to permeate every aspect of church life, and pursue with passion the belief that life-change happens best in community. We will continue to teach that pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause is the only way to truly "Live Full of Life." We will live out the 167 Principle by continuing to give ourselves away, showing care and compassion to those around us.
